Butter London - Cake Hole

Hey there!! How are we all going? Today I have Butter London - Cake Hole to show you. It is a really pretty salmon pink semi-matte/jelly formula. It was really nice to work with and only needed 2 coats, followed by 1 coat of Wicked Fast. I love this colour and bought it on special through ozsale.com for only $10. Sorry i've been absent blogging lately, I work in retail so December is the busiest period which means I will be working lots, and have horrid cuticles (as you can already see) and be too tired to post, but i'll keep trying on my days off! I finally got around to making a light box. It's pretty cool and so easy to make, but I think my lamp is too small so i'll have to look at better lighting in the future but if you could let me know what you think of this picture compared to my older ones without a light box, that'd be awesome :-)

Thanks for reading and I'll be back soon! :)

Artsy Wednesday - Movember

Hi guys! Today's theme is Movember, which solely dedicates the month of November to men's cancer awareness where men can grow a moustache (no beard or side burns!). I usually become a Mo'Sista each year (no, I don't grow a moustache lol) and donate to people and people donate to me which is awesome :)

So.. I did struggle a bit with today's theme, clearly I wanted to do a moustache but surprisingly struggled and only managed to do two decent ones on my nails lol. I used 2 coats of Lime Crime - Pastelchio, followed by 1 coat of Essie - Matte About You, then I free handed the black moustaches with OPI - Black Onyx. Followed by another coat of Essie - Matte About You.

Don't forget to check out all these lovely ladies for this weeks Artsy Wednesday theme! Thanks for reading and have a great day/night! :-)

OPI's Mariah Carey Collection & Liquid Sand Swatches

Hi guys!! Today I have some new colours from the Mariah Carey 2013 collection to show you! This collection consists of 4 liquid sand colours and 4 normal colours. Here is a look at the colours in the collection.
Top Row L-R: Can't Let Go, The Impossible, Stay The Night, Get Your Number. Bottom Row L-R: Pink Yet Lavender, Anti Bleak, A Butterfly Moment, Sprung.

Today I am showing you 2 normal colours and 1 liquid sand colour.

A Butterfly Moment* is a really lovely bronzed nude colour and is literally like applying a darker version of Benefit High Beam for your face! It is gorgeous and really suits my skin tone well. It only needed 1 coat for opacity and no top coat is shown in the photo. It is so much more gorgeous IRL, it's illuminating!

Sprung* is a chocolate bronze version of OPI's - Goldeneye from the 007 collection (see a swatch here). It is stunning! Not much more to say about it but it does require 2 coats for opacity. No top coat is shown in the pictures.

Lastly, Get Your Number* is 1 of the liquid sand colours and is a sheer navy blue jelly base filled with tiny silver glitters and larger holographic glitters. It is seriously cool. I didn't think I would like the "textured nail look" but it is so much cooler in person! Only needs 2 coats and it dries into a gritty surface. It isn't as gritty and harsh to touch as you think it'd be but applying top coat definitely dulls the effect. Nonetheless, it is super cool and I like it a lot!

With Topcoat
So these are my picks from the collection! Do you like the look of these and will you be working out your wallet? I think I need the rest of this collection!

Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Artsy Wednesday - Jelly Sandwich

Hi guys!! Today's Artsy Wednesday theme is jelly sandwich! For those of you who don't know what exactly a jelly sandwich is, it is where you generally layer quite sheer jelly-like polishes with glitter and it usually ends with another layer of the jelly on top of the glitter to dull the shine, but it gives some amazing depth!

Today's theme fell coincidental with this new polish by Essie I was wearing called Leading Lady (which is part of their new winter 2012 collection). It is a really gorgeous red jelly with red glitter in it. Without being a typical jelly sandwich, it already looks like one, but without all the extra layers.. bonus!

I used 2 coats here, but it could have easily gone with 1 coat. I noticed the red jelly went darker in colour after two coats. I applied 1 coat of Wicked Fast on top.

Seriously gorgeous colour, but is a pain in the bum to remove unless you use the PVA method! Thanks for reading and don't forget to check out these lovely ladies partaking in todays theme!

Essie - Tour De Finance

Hi guys! I'm almost on holidays...yay! And it's my 21st birthday soon.. yay! Good things are coming next week woo-hoo! Don't you love a good week?

Today I am showing you another Essie I hauled from Beautybay.com called Tour De Finance and it is the perfect and truest magenta I own in nail polish form. It is a gorgeous magenta with blue undertones. It is very opaque and I only used 2 coats in photos followed by 1 coat of wicked fast.

After a few days I decided to add a leopard print look using Revlon - Metallic (silver) and a black striper. Not a bad look I must say!
Do you own this colour? I'm really loving Essie polishes these days, something about the little bottles make me feel special haha.

Essie - Action

Hi guys! Sorry about my absence. I'm trying to study/cram for my last two exams and then I am on holidays for 3 months!! Wooo-hooo! Anyways....to fore warn you..I have serious nubbins at the moment. I recently received a mini Essie haul from Beautybay.com (5 polishes for only about $33..bargain!) Today i'm showing you Essie - Action from their Poppy Razzi collection released earlier this year. Action in the bottle looks like a peachy-orange creme. . .but when you apply it. . it is much darker and dries into an almost jelly like appearance! The formula was very gluggy and thick but not unbearable to work with. I used 2 coats for these pictures followed by 1 coat of wicked fast.

That isn't actually tip wear you see, it's shrinkage. It's a lot harder to seal the tips of my nails because they are so short and I am really noticing much more chipping and shrinkage because of it! Anyway I really love this colour and you'll probably see a few more Essie's coming up in the next couple of posts!

Bourjois - Volume Clubbing Black Jack Mascara

Hey guys! Today I am doing a review of the new mascara out by Bourjois called Volume Clubbing Black Jack Mascara (RRP $15). I think it's so new that it's not even released in Australia yet (this one I bought from the UK). Last time I checked Priceline they did not have this mascara so let me know if anyone has seen it in stores yet!

My nails are very short at the moment so I thought I'd do some make up reviews for the time being! I first heard about this mascara on Milly's blog, pearls & poodles (such a good blog, check it out here!) and knew I wanted to give it a whirl!

First off, I love the gold blingy packaging! The brush is a fibre brush, I usually like the silicon brushes as they really coat my lashes well but this one worked really good! I only needed 1 coat for my eyelashes to be coated really well, there is no weird smell of the formula and it is a true black colour.

On the bottle it says "Double-sided volumising brush with product resevoirs. Ultra resistant vinyl formula enriched with light-reflecting micro particles of gold". Well my eyelashes definitely look thicker, longer and slight voluminous, but I do not see any gold micro particles!

Let's take a look at the photos!

Now let me just say..this mascara does not come off easily! I was expecting it to start running when I washed my face, but it acted as if it was water proof. AMAZING! Such long wearing mascara and it does not flake or smudge! Wearing this for a whole day definitely changed my mind on this product as I usually go for a mascara with a silicon wand. Do you own this mascara yet? What is your favourite mascara? I would love to know. Thanks for reading!
